Her available long works include <em>The Stradivarius<\/em>&nbsp;(May 2023) and <em>Merciless Waters<\/em>&nbsp;(November 2023). She was the co-editor of <em>Scissor Sisters<\/em>, an anthology of sapphic villains (January 2024), and co-authored<em>&nbsp;Lies that Bind<\/em>&nbsp;(February 2024) in collaboration with April Yates. Rae has published 20+ shorter works in magazines and anthologies such as <em>Dark Matter Ink, Nightmare<\/em>, &amp; <em>Ghoulish Tales<\/em>. Her forthcoming work includes a collection with Off Limits Press (September 2024) and a 2026 novel which has not yet been announced. Rae is represented by Laura Williams at Greene &amp; Heaton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Cinderwich<\/em>&nbsp;by Cherie Priest Releases May 14<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Who put Ellen in the blackgum tree?\u201d&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Decades after trespassing children spotted the desiccated corpse wedged in the treetop, no one knows the answer.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kate Thrush and her former college professor, Dr. Judith Kane, travel to Cinderwich, Tennessee in hopes that maybe it was their Ellen: Katie\u2019s lost aunt, Judith\u2019s long-gone lover. But they\u2019re not the only ones to have come here looking for closure. The people of Cinderwich, a town hardly more than a skeleton itself, are staunchly resistant to the outsiders\u2019 questions about Ellen and her killer. Cherie lives in Seattle, WA, with her husband and a menagerie of exceedingly photogenic pets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Writing Classes with Apex<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/reachyourapex.com\/product-category\/courses-and-services\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Reach Your Apex<\/a>&nbsp;initiative is our way of making the knowledge and skills of publishing professionals available to those individuals who are seeking to improve their literary craft. The theme for May 7-31 will be announced and will open to the public on May 7th for <a href=\"https:\/\/apexbookcompany.moksha.io\/publication\/apex-magazine-flash-fiction\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">flash fiction submissions<\/a>. Themes are chosen by Patrons at the end of the month and announced to Patrons on the 1st of each month. Submissions will be open to the public on the 7th of each month. Submissions close on the last day of the month at midnight (US Central Time).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The winner will be paid $0.08\/word or $10, whichever is more.
